Fashion Speak, 2020 style!

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

This month Shopgirl asked the burning question, “what are some of the social and environmental improvements that can be made in the world of fashion?” With a panel of leading industry experts including Emer Diviney (Research & Policy Coordinator in Sustainable Business at the Brotherhood of St Laurence), Molly Williams (No SweatShop), Sue Thomas (fashion lecturer at School of Architecture and Design at RMIT), Michele O’Neil (National Secretary of the TCFUA and State Secretary of the Victorian Branch), Bronwyn Darlington (Director, Rise Up) and Cameron Neil (Operations Manager, Australia for Fairtrade Labelling in Australia and NZ), Alice Euphemia hosted an all informative chat to promote pertinent ethical fashion discourse. Based on your input, Shopgirl’s panel of experts addressed the ethical responsibilities and environmental issues within the gambit of the infinitely disposable fashion industry.
